.50BMG at Elbe Hills ORV

It is legal to shoot in Washington State Forests as long as you follow the rules, no shooting across roads, no tracers, etc. Thankfully this option exists for us .50BMG owners. The only long distance range in the area, Upper Nisqually Gun Club, only allows this caliber on the first Saturday of the month. Pretty inconvenient as I have to work that day. Ft. Lewis doesn't allow .50 anything, pistol or rifle, so that pretty much leaves only state forest lands to shoot in.

Me sighting in the new scope.

Ray firing his Barrett 99 for this first time (and last time in the dirt).

Firing the Bushmaster .50 BMG for the first time.

Took a trip into the mountains to do some target shooting and to test fire the .50BMG. Initially I was nervous about the noise and recoil of something this large, but it feels like firing a shotgun.
I highly recommend everybody get one for themselves. :-)

FYI The Leupold Mark 4 scope with BORS arrived the same afternoon we were shooting, so I guess another trip is in order.

Painting Logo on AR15 Lower

Painted one of my Rock River Arms Lower receiver last night. Looks pretty good and only took 10 minutes and a careful hand. Hint, its pretty easy to paint outside the lines, don't worry just let it dry and scrape the excess paint off with your fingernail.
